The excitement continues to build as the LLLI Conference grows nearer. Families from around the world
will gather in Washington, DC, USA, to discover Breastfeeding, Ancient Art, Modern Miracle from July
2-5, 2005 at the Hilton Washington.
Almost everyone who attends an LLLI Conference gives it rave reviews. This is due to outstanding speakers,
family fun, and the chance to participate in a breastfeeding community for three days.
The Exhibit Hall will offer an outstanding display of products and services of particular interest to
families. You'll have the opportunity to talk to manufacturers, home business owners, and representatives from
other organizations that advocate for mothers and babies. A silent auction will give you a chance to bid on
items you may want or need.
The bookstore will provide the latest information on parenting, breastfeeding, and nutrition as well as
souvenirs for those at home and those who are attending with you. You can take a good look at books you've
always wondered about and possibly discover a few treasures that are new to you. Come to an autograph session
at the bookstore to meet your favorite authors and get your books signed. Newsletters available at the
Conference will announce the times and dates that authors will be attending.
Poster presentations will display a glimpse into the work of advocates who are helping breastfeeding
mothers around the world. Posters can be viewed at any time during the Conference. Poster authors will be
available to provide further information during break times immediately following the luncheons on July 3
and 5.
The World Faire will give you another opportunity to explore the world of breastfeeding, but this time
in a three hour tour. Attendees have their “passports” stamped at international tables, which have items for display and items for sale. Experienced Conference-goers sometimes bring along an extra bag to carry home their purchases from this world bazaar.
If you bring children along for the Conference, don’t forget to get them involved in Chance-to-Dance or one of the many other opportunities for them to have fun and meet other children. Children accompanied by a caretaker 13 years or older will enjoy the Playroom. For children 13 years and older the Teen Lounge will be available for having fun and hanging out.
