What Sponsors Bring to World Breastfeeding Week Celebrations

Whether you have sponsors at your local World Breastfeeding Week Celebration (WBWC) or you marvel at the long list of sponsors who help underwrite LLL in the USA World Breastfeeding Week, sponsors are an important part of our yearly success. These businesses help to pay for Group and individual prizes in return for including a link to their Web site on www.lllusa.org/wbw/sponsors.php. Merchants are paying us and/or donating merchandise as part of their marketing budget. They also affirm the importance of breastfeeding by their participation and by agreeing to uphold the WHO Code as part of the sponsorship agreement. La Leche League, in turn, works hard to ensure that sponsors will appeal to our audience of families, and health care providers.
For 2007, we were delighted to have new sponsors join us in our efforts. ERGO Baby Carrier Co. is a first-time sponsor at the impressive Platinum Level. Support also comes in many varieties. In addition to products and services, one of the new sponsors for this year, The Lactivist (Gold level), is a blog. And Mothering Magazine (Platinum) has helped to raise breastfeeding awareness by placing World Breastfeeding Week ads in three of their online publications from May to September. It's also good to see many sponsors return, and even increase their level of sponsorship. Friends like Medela moved from Diamond to Platinum and CuddlyWrap from Bronze to Emerald level and are valued returning supporters. We are very grateful to all our sponsors who help ensure the success of this important work.
Do you have a favorite business or organization that supports breastfeeding? Has your place of employment made it easy for you to be a breastfeeding mom? Help them be appreciated on a national scale by offering them a chance to be a sponsor. We continue to solicit sponsorship to pay for WBWC 2007 prizes and donated random drawing gifts.
