World Walk for Breastfeeding
"Tea Bag Letter"
Our Area is using the "tea bag Letter" below to promote awareness and secure pledges for the Walk.
Three sources to find addresses:
1) sign-in sheets--particularly looking for mothers who attended a couple meetings and didn't become members
2) member list--many Group treasury files have a list of past members; it's a good idea to check these against a current local phone book so postage isn't wasted (remember retired Leaders, too!)
3) phone logs--Leaders can target all mothers who contacted LLL, or limit to repeat callers or those sent reprints
Included with the tea bag letter is "Breastfeeding Makes a Difference" tear-off sheet, addressed return envelope, tea bag, and possible a Walk invitation post-card.
You Are Invited to Celebrate with Us
Please join us in celebrating World Breastfeeding Week, recognized globally the first week in August. La Leche League Groups in 65 countries will celebrate how breastfeeding benefits everyone. We hope you can celebrate, too!
La Leche League's mission is to provide information, education, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.
How to celebrate: First put some water on to boil; place your prettiest teacup near your most comfortable chair; place purse or checkbook and pen near teacup; place enclosed tea bag in cup to steep. Next, read the enclosed sheet, "Breastfeeding Makes a Difference," and think about how breastfeeding truly benefits us all. Lastly, place in the enclosed envelope your pledge to help further La Leche League's mission, making checks payable to "LLL." Your support will help La Leche League on every level.
If La Leche League has helped you or someone you know, this is one way to pass it on to others. Thank you for your generosity, and your confidence in breastfeeding and LLL. Enjoy your cup of tea!
