Join the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) in this year’s World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) campaign on Breastfeeding: A key to Sustainable Development”. WBW 2016 focuses on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that governments around the world have agreed to achieve by 2030. The SDGs build on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and cover a range of issues on ecology, economy and equity. The new SDGs aspire to tackle the root causes of poverty and offer a vision of development that works for all people, everywhere. WBW 2016 asserts how breastfeeding is a key element in sustainable development, and is linked to the SDGs in several ways. The campaign marks an opportunity for us to work together, and show how we can achieve sustainable development through the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding!
If you are organising an event, please let WABA know by making a PLEDGE so we can list it on the WBW 2016 website. (See: http://worldbreastfeedingweek.org/pledgeform.shtml).
