Summary of LLLI activities, May-August 2021

In May we joined join with LLL entities, and countless other organizations and individuals around the world to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes. Read about our activities here.

In August we celebrated World Breastfeeding Week 2021 – find our resources and information here.
We will celebrate again in October and November when some countries hold their World Breastfeeding Week.

We recently issued a statement, ‘Becoming Welcoming’, explaining our approach to inclusion. It is our sincere intention that through our attitudes, our words, whether printed or spoken, and our visual representations that we indicate to any individual seeking our services and support that they are welcome. The LLLI 65th Anniversary Online Conference in October, Celebrating Connections, is open to Leaders, mothers, parents, families and healthcare professionals from around the world. Sessions will be in a number of languages, and text translations of all will be available in English, French, German, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Spanish. We hope you will join us – bookings open soon!

LLL Leaders are volunteer breastfeeding counsellors who have nursed their own children, are passionate about the value of human milk and provide support in their communities. Leaders may offer information and resources in-person and by phone, text, email, and social media. Leaders may run a local group and moderate mother-to-mother/parent-to-parent meetings.

LLL is made up of 8 Direct Connect Entities (DCEs), each of which serves as the leadership body for its Leaders to connect with LLLI. You can find more information about each DCE, the support they offer and upcoming events here.

You can print to paper or to a PDF file.

For best printing results, open the site in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Although you can view the site well in any browser, printing from other browsers might not operate correctly.

1. Browse to the web document that you want to print.

2. Click the Print button that is displayed on the web page (not the Print command on the browser menu or toolbar).
This opens the browser print window. The window displays a preview of the document that will be printed. The preview might take a minute to display, depending on the document size.

3. In the Printer box, select the desired printer.
For example, if you are working on a Windows computer, and you want to print to a PDF file, select Save as PDF.

4. As required, configure the other options such as the pages to print.

5. Click the Print button.
If you are generating a PDF, click Save. You are prompted for the name and folder location to save the file.
